Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)

A six-year professional doctorate in pharmaceutical science and supervised clinical practice — training pharmacists for Ghana's hospitals, community pharmacies and industry.

Overview

Central's PharmD combines pharmaceutical science, clinical pharmacology and supervised hospital and community practice. The programme succeeded the university's earlier BPharm degree, upgraded to the six-year PharmD standard from the 2018/19 academic year.

Careers

Graduates register with the Pharmacy Council of Ghana and practise in hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, pharmaceutical manufacturing and regulatory affairs.
