PhD in Human Resource Management and Organisational Leadership
A research doctorate that integrates advanced HRM scholarship with leadership theory and practice — for Ghana, sub-Saharan Africa, and the wider global economy.
Overview
The Central University PhD in Human Resource Management and Organisational Leadership responds to the growing demand for high-level expertise in people management and leadership across Ghana, sub-Saharan Africa, and the broader global economy. As emerging economies navigate globalisation, technological change, and the imperatives of the Sustainable Development Goals, the need for qualified HR scholars and strategic leaders has never been more critical.
This programme equips graduates to address those challenges through rigorous research, evidence-based practice, and original contributions to knowledge that serve Ghana’s national development agenda and the wider African region.
The programme integrates advanced HRM scholarship with leadership theory and practice, adopting a multidisciplinary approach that bridges strategic people management, organisational behaviour, and ethical governance. Students develop a deep understanding of leadership effectiveness, diversity management, cross-cultural intelligence, and evidence-based HR decision-making.
