CUcare · Student Care & Emergency Response Fund
No student left behind.
Launched in April 2023, CUcare provides timely financial and psychosocial support to students whose studies are threatened by emergencies or financial hardship — so that no one discontinues their education, and no one suffers undue hardship, over the unforeseen.
Student care
Compassion with urgency.
From emergency fees to medical support — CUcare stands between a crisis and a cancelled semester.
What CUcare Covers
Support where it's needed most.
CUcare is built on four commitments: rapid, compassionate support for students in need; a sustainable, multi-source funding base; strong governance and transparency; and the emotional, spiritual and financial resilience of every beneficiary.
How It Works
From application to disbursement, in days.
The student completes a standard CUcare application form, online or on paper.
The CUcare team reviews the documentation and confirms genuine need.
A recommendation is made to the Scholarship Committee.
The Committee approves and authorises disbursement by the Finance Office within five working days.
Payments go directly to the student's fees account or to service providers.
Counselling support and academic reintegration follow, so recovery is holistic.
Priority cases — mental-health emergencies, sudden financial crises, and fire- or accident-related losses — are fast-tracked to Management for approval.
Give to CUcare
Keep a student in school.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni, families and corporate partners all give to CUcare. Every cedi goes toward keeping a capable student in their programme. Give once, or give monthly.
