The Bachelor of Science in Economics and Computer Science is a combined-major programme in which both Economics and Computer Science are studied as major disciplines. The programme is designed to provide theoretical and computational skills to graduates in the applied and social sciences. Various sectors of the economy, including financial, educational, healthcare and industry employ computational systems to gather, organise, share and maintain their data. In a developing economy such as Ghana these capacities are crucial for rapid growth and transformation

The growing technological advancement of the modern era has created an increasing demand for professionals with expertise in data science, programming, and algorithm development for business and economic policymaking. Students pursuing the combined major in Economics and Computer Science will acquire strong programming and analytical skills necessary for advanced data analysis and economic modelling.

Entry requirements

| Standard entry | WASSCE/SSSCE: credit passes in six subjects — three core (English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies) plus three relevant electives — with an aggregate of 24 or better (WASSCE grades A1–C6 / SSSCE A–D). GCE: credit passes in five O-Level subjects (including English and Mathematics) and passes in two–three A-Level subjects. Mature applicants (25+): entrance examination and/or interview. |
